It is designed to help students, parents and carers quickly understand how lessons work, how personal information is handled, and how we keep students safe.

Terms and Conditions
Our Terms and Conditions explain how Archway Music lessons are booked, paid for, delivered, rearranged and ended. They apply to adult students and to parents or carers arranging lessons for students under 18. Lessons are delivered online, and the exact tutor, lesson length, lesson time, price and platform will be confirmed separately before lessons begin. The terms also make clear that music tuition is an educational service: we aim to teach with care and skill, but cannot guarantee a specific exam result, grade, performance outcome or rate of progress.
Trial lessons cost £20 and must be paid before the trial takes place. Regular lessons are normally invoiced monthly in advance, based on the lessons scheduled in that calendar month. Payment is currently by bank transfer unless another method is agreed in writing. If payment is late, lessons may be paused after a reminder, and repeated late payment may lead to the regular lesson slot being withdrawn.
If a student needs to rearrange a lesson, at least 24 hours’ notice should be given wherever possible. The normal approach is to rearrange the lesson rather than cancel it outright. Lessons missed with less than 24 hours’ notice, or without attendance, may be charged in full. If Archway Music or the tutor cancels, we will offer a rearranged lesson, credit or refund. Regular lessons can be ended by giving at least 14 days’ written notice.
Students are expected to attend on time, have a suitable instrument or learning setup, use a working camera and microphone unless otherwise agreed, and take lessons from a safe and appropriate space. Students, parents and carers must follow the relevant safeguarding and conduct expectations. Lesson materials and practice resources are for the student’s personal learning only and should not be copied, uploaded, sold or shared without permission.
Safeguarding Policy
Archway Music believes every student has the right to learn in a safe, supportive and respectful environment. Safeguarding is central to our work, and all tutors working on behalf of Archway Music are expected to follow clear professional standards. The Safeguarding Policy applies to trial lessons, regular online lessons, communications with students and parents, tutor recruitment, digital tools and any safeguarding concern connected to Archway Music services. It covers children under 18, adults at risk, parents and carers, tutors, contractors and the founder/DSL. Safeguarding concerns are taken seriously, recorded accurately and acted on promptly. The welfare of the child is the central priority.
For under-18s, lesson arrangements will normally go through the parent or carer. Direct communication with an older under-18 student is only permitted where it is parent-approved, educationally necessary and the parent or carer is copied in. Tutors must use approved business communication channels, maintain professional boundaries, avoid unnecessary out-of-hours contact, and must not add, follow or privately message under-18 students on personal social media.
Online lessons must take place through an Archway Music-approved platform or account. Parents or carers must know the lesson time, tutor and platform being used. Students under 13 should have a parent, carer or responsible adult nearby throughout the lesson, while students aged 13–17 may attend independently if a responsible adult is contactable. Lessons should take place in a safe, appropriate space, and recordings, screenshots or student media must not be used without clear prior agreement and consent
Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy explains how Archway Music collects, uses, stores and shares personal information. Archway Music is operated by Max Worth trading as Archway Music, and privacy questions can be sent to hello@archwaymusic.co.uk. We collect only the information we reasonably need to respond to enquiries, arrange and deliver lessons, manage payments, support student progress, work with tutors, run our website and practice tools, and keep students safe. We do not sell personal information.
For students and parents or guardians, this may include names, contact details, student age, instrument, level, goals, availability, lesson notes, progress notes, payment records, communications and safeguarding records where relevant. For tutors and contractors, this may include contact details, experience, qualifications, references, onboarding records, DBS or suitability check information where relevant, contracts, invoices and payment records. Website and enquiry data may include form submissions, technical website information and, where enabled, practice tool progress data.
Children’s information is only collected where reasonably needed for tuition, safety, administration and progress tracking. If Archway Music provides practice tools such as the Practice Hub, progress data may be used to support learning. Where progress is stored locally on a student’s device or browser, Archway Music may not routinely receive that data unless it is shared with us. We will not use a student’s name, image, performance, testimonial or work for marketing without appropriate permission.
People have rights over their personal information, including the right to ask for a copy, request corrections, ask for deletion where the law allows, object to direct marketing, restrict certain uses, request transfer in some circumstances, and withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.
